Glossop Nursery Chef Runs 10k for Charity
The whole team at Little Stars Nursery in Glossop is incredibly proud to announce that our nursery chef completed the 10k Greater Manchester run!
Michele raised £174 for The Spider Ede Appeal, after asking our Glossop nursery families and team to sponsor her. She completed the run in just 1 hours and 23 minutes after training at least twice a week in the months leading up to the event.
“I really wanted to help in some small way”
Michele said, “When I heard what Edie’s family are going through I thought it was absolutely heart-breaking. I really wanted to help in some small way. On a day-to-day basis I like to keep pushing myself and enjoy a personal challenge, so I thought doing a sponsored 10k would be a great way to raise funds for Edie.
“I ran twice a week in the run up to the big day and received lots of support and encouragement from the Little Stars staff and children.
“The children were very excited when I explained what I was doing and I know they’re very proud of me now that I’ve completed the run.
“I’d like to thank all of the parents and carers at the nursery who helped spread the word about the fundraiser, and for everyone who sponsored me.”
Michele – who was shortlisted for the NMT Magazine’s Nursery Chef of the Year in 2016 – is now back at the nursery, after taking a well-deserved day off the day after the run!
