Woodlands Day Nursery raise £275 for The Little Princess Trust

We know our nursery team at Woodlands are a cut above the rest, but Rachel and Fern from our Woodlands Day Nursery took things to a different level over the weekend when they took a trip to a local hairdressers to donate hair to the fabulous charity Little Princess Trust.

Following their visit to Baroque Hair and Beauty Salon in Harrogate,  Rachel and Fern donated an amazing 34 inches of hair and raised £275 for the charity which provides free real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

Both Rachel and Fern say the children at nursery had been their inspiration.  While playing hairdressers at nursery Rachel recalled how the children always tell her they’d love to have long hair too.

“Thinking of all those children who can’t have their dream of long hair made me realise I wanted to do what I could to help and make a difference to those children’s lives!”

Little Princess Trust use hair donations and fundraising monies sent to manufacture and fit beautiful real hair wigs. Established in 2006, they have supplied over 8000 wigs to children and young people and have invested circa £5 million into ground-breaking childhood cancer research.

Rachel & Fern, Woodlands Nursery:

“We are so overwhelmed by the amazing donations everyone has been making and for all the support everyone has given us! It’s safe to say we are very proud of ourselves! We can’t wait to send off our hair and for this amazing charity to receive the money we have raised.”
