Halloween is coming and we all know what that means: it’s pumpkin time! Making a spooky pumpkin is a great way to get creative and have some messy fun with your child. But what about all those insides that go in the bin once the pumpkin has been hollowed out?
Use your pumpkin seeds to make a tasty Halloween snack
There’s no need for any parts of the pumpkin to go to waste. Not only can you use the flesh to cook a delicious Pumpkin Soup, you can also make a scrummy snack using the seeds! We’ve put together this simple ‘Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Cinnamon’ recipe so you and your family can sit back and enjoy a healthy snack after all that carving.
The instructions involve wiping, rinsing, stirring and spreading – which means children of all ages can help you at different stages. So instead of throwing your seeds away this Halloween, why not have a bit more fun in the kitchen instead?

With this in mind, our Apperley Bridge Nursery team put together some ‘No Planning Required’ learning activities you can do outdoors and at home!
